West Java has significant potential to transition toward a sustainable green economy, leveraging key sectors such as manufacturing, transportation, agriculture, and renewable energy. This study analyzes the role of green jobs in supporting economic development while addressing environmental and employment challenges. In 2023, the manufacturing industry contributed IDR 1,099.08 trillion (41.9% of GRDP), while agriculture, forestry, and fisheries contributed IDR 221.65 trillion, employing 4.16 million people (17.79% of the workforce). The transportation sector showed promising potential for green mobility solutions, and renewable energy investments in solar and clean energy are emerging growth areas. The employment multiplier effect highlights that sectors such as information and communication, financial services, and manufacturing have the highest job creation potential. Strategies such as tax incentives, subsidies for green technology, and investment in green infrastructure can accelerate the green economy transition. Additionally, sustainable agriculture policies, green transportation initiatives, and eco-friendly manufacturing are crucial to reducing carbon footprints and ensuring inclusive economic growth. This research emphasizes the need for integrated policy frameworks to maximize green job opportunities and drive West Java’s long-term economic and environmental sustainability. By adopting data-driven approaches and innovative policies, West Java can strengthen its green economy agenda, aligning with the Regional Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMD) for sustainable and inclusive development.
